God Kind of Faith

What Is God-Kind-of-Faith?

God-kind-of-faith is faith that is within the will of God.  Matthew 6:33 says: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.”  God-kind-of-faith demands that we be in agreement with the will of God. We must have faith for the things that God is interested in.  God-kind-of-faith operates on God’s agenda and not our own.  This can very well explain why sometimes our prayers go unanswered, because what we’re asking for is not in God’s will for our lives (at least not at that time and maybe never).

God-Kind-of-Faith Manifests God’s Will for Your Future

Jeremiah 29:11 says: “For I know the plans I have for you declares the LORD plans to PROSPER you and not to HARM you, plans to give you HOPE and a FUTURE,” (emphasis Mine).  Parents know that a constant diet of candy given to a child will result in rotten teeth.  God our heavenly father knows that our own selfish desires will lead to a life of defeat and despair.  Therefore, in order to live a victorious life we must come in agreement with GOD’s will for our life.  You might ask, How do we know the will of God? Again the answer is simple.  Spend time in the word of God and seek his face. Then and only then can your spirit discern the will of GOD.  After all, He’s GOD all by Himself.  He knows the exact number of hairs on our head.  He sees the end from the begining.

Step 1: Put GOD First

Learn to put GOD first in all situations, less of self and more of Jesus.  How can two agree except they walk together?  Amos 3:3 (KJV) says: “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”  The NIV version says: “Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?”  Go in the spirit and pick-up what God wants to do, and do it.  When I say “go in the spirit,” I mean, you must spend time alone with God in your prayer closet or in your car or where ever and when ever you have your devotions  This is guaranteed: The more time you spend with God, the more you will see the evidence of God’s will moving in your life. Walking with the Lord allows you to be in sync with the plans God has for your life.

Step 2: Move With the Spirit of God

Everybody who knows the story of the Exodus has seen an example of moving with the Spirit of God.  Numbers 9:16 and 17 (KJV), says: “So it was: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night. And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after the children of Israel journeyed: and in the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Israel pitched their tents.”

Step 3: Wait on the Lord & Don’t Quit!

God’s time is not our time. Numbers 9: 22 (KJV ) tells us that the children of Israel had to learn to wait on the Lord: “whether it were two days, or a month, or a year that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, remaining thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents, and journeyed not; but when it was taken up, they journeyed.”  Are we going to abandon God’s way when the time seems too long? When thing are not happening when we think they should, remember the scripture Galatians 6:9 (KJV) which says: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faith not.”  And that is a promise. I leave you with a poem titled “DON’T QUIT.”

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill, when the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit – Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with it’s twists and turns, As everyone of us sometimes learns, And many a person turns about When they might have won had they stuck it out.  Don’t give up though the pace seems slow–You may succeed with another blow.

Often the struggler has given up when he might have captured the victor’s cup; And he learned too late when the nights came down, How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out–So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit—It’s when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit.
