Powerful Words for Your Journey

Growing up in Christ means that the things of God will influence everything you do. That certainly is the case with me. Through all the challenges of my life, and certainly while starting my new business, JSL 7of7, I find myself remembering the Bible verses I memorized as a child. Because life changes can be a source of fear, I thought I would share some the Bible verses that strengthen and encourage me:

Psalms 127:2 – It is vain for you to rise early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrow: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

1 Corinthians 14:33 – God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

Ephesians 6:11 – Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand the wiles of the devil.

2 Timothy 1:12  (American Standard Version) – For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.

Life happens to us all. That is the one thing we all have in common.  But no matter what our circumstances are; whether it is the loss of a job, home, friend or family, God is able to bring us through.  I am reminded of this fact when I read Jeremiah 29:11.  “For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord.  Plans to prosper you and not to harm you.  Plans for a hope and a future.”

God sees our past, present and future all at the same time.  Waiting for God increases my faith, because, I know He desires the best for me. I can rest better at night, and I have more confidence in the work that I do in building my business.  I can claim the promises of God because I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. What about you?  Have you ever accepted Christ as your personal Lord and Savior?  Having Christ at the center of your life is the only way to ensure that your life is being directed by the God of all creation.

Accepting Christ is as simple as ABC.  First, you must admit that you are a sinner.  All have sinned and fallen short of the grace of God.  Secondly, believe the Jesus Christ is the son of God, and that He died for your sins and rose again. Jesus’ death and resurrection is the reason for the Easter Season.  So, confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord.  Now  your journey in newness of life begins.  If you have made this confession, tell someone and get connected to a solid Bible believing Church-home that will nurture you growth in the Lord. Until our next encounter, keep reaching for Jesus: He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by Him.
