We the church, the body of Christ, are required to live by faith daily. Faith is not an empty exercise. The power of faith is revealed by its results. The Bible gives us many examples of this cause and effect relationship between faith and its consequences. Here are two examples from the books of Romans and Acts:
Romans 1:17 (KJV) says: “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
Acts 3:1-8 KJV 1 says: “Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour, And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they lay daily at the gate of the Temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the Temple. 3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the Temple asked an alms. 4. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said. Look on us. 5. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. 6. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.”
Faith is on the job daily never taking a vacation. Just as the lame man was daily placed at the Beautiful Gate, we must take our places before the throne of God and exercise our faith daily. Faith must always be in expectancy mode. The lame man was expecting to receive alms from all who passed by; however, John and Peter gave him something more valuable than silver and gold Faith has an attitude that is intentional. Faith operates best in an atmosphere of expectation.
Faith is also stubborn. Faith is long term. Faith says “No matter what happens I am in Love with God”. When we are walking in real faith, brothers and sisters in Christ are urged to go beyond where they are, from faith to greater faith, that God might be glorified. Faith aligns our hearts so that they are right, aligned with the will of God, and ready for the supernatural.
Faith is not selfish. Faith is not just for me. My entire family two to three generations deep ( & then some!) will be blessed because of my faith. When we operate in faith there is high confidence and high expectancy that God will do just what he said he will do. He is faithful ya’ll…. Take and inventory over the last ten years of your life. Where were you then compared to now? Where will you be five years from today?
I have made the choice, As for me and my house we will serve the Lord Joshua 24:15
Psalms 127:1 Except The Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it; except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
